MY TOP TEN FAVORITE ARTISTS!

Updated: Oct 22, 2022

Hey guys, As this is one of my first blog posts I'm sure you want to know a bit about me. (well hopefully!)

Listening to Music is my favourite thing to do because there's always a song that fits perfectly regardless of the mood I am in. Music is just honestly amazing and if I'm being honest I can't imagine the world without it. I can imagine it being a boring one though! Another great thing about music is that it can be vibed to alone but also bring people together and carry that same level of hype ( depending on who you're listening to, of course!)

"In a world of peace and love music would be the universal language" - Henry David Thoreau

“Music is the best way that I can communicate with other people.” Juice WRLD, Billboard interview

These are my top ten favourite music artists that I can listen to on repeat for hours and not get sick of!

Now, Let me put you on!

(In no particular order because I just can't pick!)

1. Drake

Drake is an amazing Lyricist, artist and one who you have all definitely heard of! ( Unless you're quite literally living under a rock) It's honestly very rare to hear a bad song from him! His songs are extremely catchy and the beats compliment his voice very well he is one of the more well-known artists on this list and He's one of the artists I've been listening to for years. He is considered as one of " The Artist Of The Decade" and I see why as he constantly brought in excellent albums and singles throughout the years. I have more than one favourite song on every album he's made. So if I listed them all you'll be reading this post forever so I'll narrow it down. My favourite Albums are his ones after 2011: "If You're Reading This It's Too Late", "More Life", "Nothing Was the Same", "Views" and "Scorpion".There are several songs to credit here yet I'll list a few of my favourites "Lord Knows", "Take Care" and "6 pm in new york", "One Dance", "hold on, we're going home" (Iconic!) and "Child's Play".There's not one song here that isn't astonishing! Drake is an incredible artist and his features are just as great! He has an impressive collection of Albums and singles and he's an influential artist who deserves his success.

2. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande is just wonderful, she is such a strong vocalist and her songs captivate millions. She is an iconic artist with many astounding songs and I've loved her music for years! I've watched her progress from 'Victorious' and shes definitely bloomed as an artist and performer. Grande is a talented artist with exceptional songs. There is no way you haven't heard a song from her, I'm being serious, It's literally impossible!? My favourite album from her has to be "K Bye for Now (Sweetener Live!)" Now Ariana studio sounds incredible, but Ariana live!! Tattooed heart live is just so beautiful! and "My everything" too! She is honestly such a great vocalist. There are too many excellent songs on "Sweetener". My top three favourites would have to be from "Breathin", "God is a woman" & "No tears left to cry".Since 2013 Ariana has blessed us with "One last time", "7 rings", "The way", "Imagine" and I can't miss the iconic "Thank you next"!

3. Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish is a newer artist with many songs that just put you right in your feels. Her music videos (I love "When the party's over" and the "Hostage" music video) and songs have deep concepts and shes not afraid to express how she's feeling through her songs. Her personality is cool like she gives off such a fun vibe despite her songs being more serious and heartfelt. Whether shes' singing lives or In the studio, Billie's sounds beautiful and her voice will really put you in your feels. I genuinely don't think that there's a Billie song I dislike they are so good! So I literally recommend all of them (The songs in Both albums "Don't smile at me" and "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?")

4. Juice Wrld

I love Juice Wrld, He is definitely one of my all-time favourite artists and through his music, many could connect and sympathise with him. Juice Wrld was an exceptional artist who will deeply be missed. Personally, I love many of his songs so it's difficult to just choose one! Albums 'Death Race For Love' and 'Goodbye & Good Riddance' both have great songs as well as his unreleased freestyles (That I almost know all the words too). Honestly, his death is still so shocking as he was such a phenomenal artist with so much potential and talent! Especially since he died so early at just 21. He was an amazing freestyler with an impeccable amount of talent, No honestly! and his songs such as Lucid dreams (489 Million views) manage to capture emotions which many listeners could relate to. Through a lot of his songs, he also details his battle with depression and how he turned to drugs to help him cope. What I think separates him from most rappers is he was very transparent in his songs and he expressed his personal struggles through his songs which many felt that they could empathise with him. He had a very charismatic and goofy personality which can be seen from his live streams as well as his interviews. My favourite is the Hot one's interview!

May he Rest In Peace

( p.s I love his first posthumous single "Righteous")

5. Rihanna

Okay so I know she isn't currently making music but I can't ignore how much of an incredible artist she is! Rihanna honestly has too many great songs her vocals are just incredible. Seriously, whether she is performing live or in a studio, her songs hit the same. I still can't get past her 2016 performance at the 2016 MTV VMA's like how can you watch that and not think she sounds amazing!? She has many albums but my personal favourite is "Anti". I also love the iconic songs "What's my name", "Love the way you lie" and "Umbrella". Rihanna is such an influential personality because she's working on so many projects whilst being very successful in them and she puts time and care into all work to ensure they're all done in the best way possible which is something I admire about her. I know I'm not alone when I say I hope to hear new music from her soon too. WHERE'S THE ALBUM!??

6.Roddy Ricch

Roddy Ricch is an exceptional artist who is a talented lyricist with phenomenal songs. If you haven't listened to a Roddy ricch where have you been!? My favourite album from him has to be "Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial" as there are too many great songs on there! My top three songs on the album would have to be "High fashion", "War Baby" and "The Box". What I love about Roddy Ricch's songs is he can sound amazing behind a studio and live! Have you seen him perform with the live orchestra? it's amazing! Also, can we talk about his music videos too! Another artist who has very great visionary with them and takes time to pour creativity into. them I can't wait to hear more from him.

7. Jhene Aiko

Jhene Aiko is a talented artist with remarkable songs. If you haven't listened to a Jhene Aiko why!? My favourite albums from her have to be "Chilombo" and "Souled Out" and her "Sail Out" EP because there are too many excellent songs on there! I don't think I can pick a favourite song from "Chilombo" Because I love all of them! But from "Souled Out" my top three would have to be "W.A.Y.S", "Promises" and "Wading". What I love about Aiko's songs is that most of her songs can be so peaceful, like a lot of her songs are relaxing! Have you heard "Trigger Protection Mantra"? It does just that I, like how she can switch it up and her songs, can also have a different vibe like "Triggered" or "Sativa" it's amazing!

8. Lil Tjay

Lil Tjay is an amazing rapper I've honestly never heard a bad song from this guy! His songs are so catchy and the beats compliment his voice so well he's more of the "low-key" artists on this list. He's one of the artists I'm late listening to. You can just tell through his songs how much he wants to make it too and how much he believes in him which I think is really cool. I love his EP "F.N" I'm not even joking there's not one song here that isn't a vibe. His Album "True 2 Myself" is also amazing and my favourite songs from here are "Ruthless", "No Escape" and "Leaked".I admire the "One take" Music video too (Maybe I'm biased with that because it's filmed in London). One of my favourite singles from him is definitely 2020 and I definitely think he deserves more recognition

9.Burna Boy

Burna Boy is my favourite Nigerian artist! I love his songs! They are all just such a vibe and so catch too! I am convinced that even if you don't understand his songs you can't deny his songs sound amazing. Another thing I like about Burna boys songs is that they can bring people together because they just make you want to sing along and dance. I honestly don't think there is a Burna boy song I dislike. They're too good! My favourite album would have to be "African Giant" and My top three songs "On the low", Ye" and "Collateral damage". I love the songs he features in as well like Dave's "Location", Jorja smith's "Be honest" and Stormzy's "own it".He brings his sound into songs and it works!

10.Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi is an excellent artist who is a skilled lyricist with timeless songs. I have only started listening to him recently but I've been obsessed ever since! I love most of his songs because they send off such great vibes. Something I feel makes him unique is that he creates music for different genres! My favourite albums from him are "Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr Rager" and "Kids see ghosts". Also, my favourite songs from him would have to be "Reborn", "Day n nite", "Pursuit of Happiness", "Mr Rager" and "Just what I am". Have you seen his Ted talk!? it's amazing! I also really like how his newer song with Travis Scott and admire how he's still making great songs like ten years ago!

I hope you like this list! I've only listed ten artists here but I listen to almost every genre! There are more artists who I love and deserve recognition who I wish I could have squeezed Into this list such as The weeknd, Meghan thee stallion, Kehlani, Dave, Tyler the Creator, Amy Winehouse, Lil Uzi Vert, Beyonce, Frank Ocean and more! If I continued the list it would go on forever ( I'm not joking!)
